Residential Support Service
Specialist support for adults with learning disabilities, at home, round-the-clock.
What does the Residential Support Service (RSS) do?
Lots of people talk about “making a difference”. We think that’s a bit too simple. We believe in doing whatever is necessary to empower people to make their own difference.
The service works round the clock, on a one-to-one or two-to-one basis. We support adults with autism and learning disabilities in their own home, as well as out and about in the community. Many organisations call it "Supported Living". Our aim is to support people to live rewarding, fulfilling lives, the way they want to live them.
No such thing as an average day
We strive to avoid the monotony of tasks and timetables. Instead we offering truly person-centred care. So of course there is no such thing as an “average shift”.
The focus is on relationships and experiences, meaning everything we do is focussed around the needs of our clients.
RSS is the absolute opposite of institutionalised thinking. In fact we reject institutionalisation. We actively work to remove it from everything we do.
Responsive, reflective, adapatable
We work to a system of care that is responsive by design. We listen, we reflect and respond. We build genuine connections that enable and encourage real change, real freedom, real growth. We ensure our care is responsive, agile and adaptable. We don’t like to stand still, and we work hard to avoid complacency.
We understand that it’s not always about doing what’s easiest. It’s about doing what is most valuable. It is about nurturing, developing and maintaining genuine relationships, and encouraging valuable, worthwhile experiences. We feel that it is a privilege to play a part in empowering a person to achieve the things they can achieve.
We have provided disability services for 20 years. In that time we have built an enviable reputation for the work we do. RSS is the most specialist of that work. We’re very proud of what we do, and the things we have achieved.
The service is regulated by the Care Quality Commission to ensure extremely high standards of service. Every member of our 20+ strong team is given high quality training and continued professional support, guaranteeing each and every client interaction is of the utmost value.
